Thin World is a group exhibition by six artists, exploring the instability and fragility of the world – moments when balance shifts, boundaries blur, and what appears permanent reveals itself to be temporary. The exhibition brings together works by Anneliis Vabul, Eleny Kasemets, Erki Kannus, Kairi Orgusaar, Kerstin Rei and Mari Roosvalt, with watercolour as a shared point of departure and a desire to expand its expressive possibilities.

My works focus on change, transitions and contrasts. Layers and boundaries emerge from torn watercolour paper, while colour moves from one state to another – intensifying and softening, becoming denser and dissolving, meeting another tone or appearing different in relation to it.

I am interested in the tension between physical rupture and visual continuity. A torn edge is a concrete boundary, but it does not necessarily mark an ending. It can become a transition, a turning point, or a place where one state gives way to another. Colour, in turn, does not obey a clear boundary – a tone moves, changes and continues even where the material itself is interrupted.

In these works, change is not an exceptional moment but a continuous condition. Layers, edges, colour transitions and contrasts create temporary balances that may shift again from one moment to the next. In this way, the works consider the world not as something fixed and complete, but as something continuously forming and rearranging itself.
